All of the photographs on this website are of butterflies that occur in Louisiana.  The list at the left contains all of the species of butterflies that have been observed in Louisiana in taxonomic order.  There are a total of 153 species some of which have been seen in Louisiana as strays. Click on the name of a butterfly to view its picture.  Many of the pages include photos of  butterfly eggs, caterpillars, and chrysalises when available.  Those species for which I don't have photographs are linked to text.  New photographs will be added as I take them.  Old ones will be replaced when I  have better ones.  Not all of the photos are from Louisiana, but the butterflies do occur in Louisiana.
