Orange-barred Sulphur (Phoebis philea) |
I have seen an Orange-barred Sulphur in Caddo Parish only once. It was in my back yard nectaring first on Tithonia and then Lantana. I attempted to photograph it, but unsuccessfully. I know that this individual was a male because I saw the orange bar on the dorsal side as it flew away. This butterfly stopped in my yard for sustenance for about 30 seconds and moved on. It was on a mission to get somewhere. |
