Red-bellied Woodpecker

The following three photos were taken at a bird banding field trip sponsored by the Bird Study Group in Shreveport on March 8, 2014. With this individual, you can see why this species is called a Red-Bellied Woodpecker. The bellies are not always this red. Check out the fourth photo.
